Stretch Workshop

On August 21st we held our 2nd IBX-er Exclusive event a Stretch Workshop. During this workshop I, Coach Evee shared about the benefits of stretching and stretching essentials. We then spent the rest of the class diving deeper into putting this information into practice by starting with doing dynamic stretching that they can see in our IBX warm-ups and ending with static stretching that we use in our cool downs. The breakdown of this information is vital for our members to learn at slower pace in a workshop setting so that they can learn how to connect more deeply to their own bodies during our classes.

After the lecture portion of the workshop. We spent time warming up our bodies through Lower Body, Upper Body, Full Body and Core Dynamic stretches that the IBX-ers see weekly in classes during our warm up section of class. After getting their body temperatures elevated and the joints moving fluidly through their range of motions we then went into static stretching.

During the last 5 mins of class at IBX Fitness we move through multiple static stretches giving the body time to find it's pre-exercise heart rate and core temperature. Our Cool Down section of class is vital and it was important during the workshop for our IBX-ers to move through this section with a longer period of time so they could understand the body mechanics of static stretching that they can take with them to weekly classes.
IBX-er Exclusive Events are a great way for our regular clients to get a more insight into exercise science. We ask that anyone who would like to join these events take at least 5 classes with IBX Fitness. These classes are based around the class forms at IBX and the way we can apply deeper knowledge from these workshops to class settings.
